Hi Gerd, I have moved the merging after the short arcs handling. I modified the merging in that way that the highway count at the merged point is decreased. Now I get several warnings about routing problems: possible routing problem: road end-points not both coordNodes: (http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/157720528) Do you have any idea why there is a problem when decreasing the highway count by one for the merged point? yes, I think it should be moved after the loop that copies the points.
