
Thanks Charlie In theory,it should be possible to 'render' any tag . So, walking/cycling around you should be able to see as a label any addresses contained in an osm file. I had in mind addresses not attached to any 'object',ie shop, cafe etc. These are just nodes with an addr tag, there are hundreds of them around my area - I agree such 'blind' tags need a type reference. It seems to imply that addresses without a specific type reference, EVENTHOUGH they are rendered in mapnik ,can not be 'shown' in say Mapsource.
