I do not understand completely your question. If you build a gmapsupp.img to load it e.g. directlty into your Garmin, I think you have not to worry about the ID. It is just necessery when you use Mapsource. Then you need different IDs to distinguish between different maps. If you there have also just one map, the ID is also not important.
