Any way to get BRIDGES=YES to be drawn on TOP of all other ways?

I really wanted the .img file to look like the real roads. If a linetype crossed over another way, it would be drawn on top. Since there is a limited number of Routable linetypes, I decided to just use one linetype and label it "bridge". But this still does not work. I get some ways being drawn on top of the bridge way. Any sure way to get bridges to be drawn on top? In my lines file I have added (Tertiary example ): highway=tertiary & mkgmap:unpaved=1 [0x11 road_class=1 road_speed=3 resolution 20] # I use a THICK UNPAVED LINETYPE highway=tertiary & oneway=yes [0x26 resolution 20 continue] # I overlay ARROWS underneath the way highway=tertiary & cycleway=lane [0x17 resolution 20 continue] # I overlay 2 bike lanes alongside the way (not currently working, yet) highway=tertiary & bridge!=yes [0x05 road_class=1 road_speed=3 resolution 20] # draw all ways that do not have bridges # at the end of the lines file, just before FINALIZE highway=tertiary & bridge=yes [0x12 road_class=1 road_speed=3 resolution 20] # draw bridges last so they will be on top. Anybody got this to work? Greg

Error downloading source

Hello, after more than a year of inactivity, I've tried to update my Garmin map today, but unfortunately I am not able to download the current source for mkgmap from svn. After invoking svc with svn co http://svn.mkgmap.org.uk/mkgmap/trunk mkgmap I always get the following error: svn: E120105: Fehler beim Ausführen des Kontextes: The server sent an improper HTTP response This happens at random positions, sometimes after just a few files, sometimes after downloading 20MB or even more. I am using svn, Version 1.9.3-SlikSvn (SlikSvn/1.9.3) übersetzt am Dec 15 2015, um 12:13:34 auf x86_64-microsoft-windows6.2.9200 on Windows 7 64 Bit. My last attempt to download the source was back in summer 2014, and at that time it used to work properly. Is this a known problem and what could I try to resolve it? Thank you, Michael

Catch more fixme variants to delete

Default style contains some rules in inc/name to catch fixme's in name, ref, brand and operator tags and delete them, but the number of variants of fixme's is quite wide and some are not catched, so I have replaced current rules with a regular expression, to try to catch them all. Attached is a patch that implement this.

Reported similar arcs are not so similar

Some osmers who work fixing errors in OSM data using the files I serve have reported a lot of cases of supposed similar arcs which are not errors, like the following examples: (http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/47972506) and (http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/21690948) (http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/152931346) and (http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/327519978) (http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/163137843) and (http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/297772507) According to an old message from Mark Burton [1], ways with same start point, end point and length are reported as similar arcs by --report-similar-arcs option, even if they don't overlap. The ones above may meet those conditions, but it would be nice if not overlapping ways are omitted. Perhaps an extra check for a third point in common would help. Address search index questions.

Hello there, i have just started to use mkgmap a few days ago and managed to do everything i wanted without issues. However, i have a question that i can not find already answered anywhere: The fact that address search only works (on a garmin device) when the search string starts with the exact same characters of the matches is a limitation on the Garmin OS, on mkgmap, or am i doing something wrong ? For example, if the street name is “Manuel Belgrano”, and i search for “belgrano”, i will never get a match, however, if i search for “manuel”, i will get a match. Same happens for cities. Any help on this would be appreciated. Thanks. // Diego

Slash character in name

For destinations or names with more than one line, it's common to have each line separated by a forward slash. I've tried to customize my map to replace semicolon with slash, but the slash does not appear. Is the slash an allowed character in a name or destination? I'm using the Latin1 character set. Brian
