Hi, excuse me I would understand why if I have a polygon (building) with a node on the external line the rendering of the tag refer to all the polygon result attached to the external node.... two weird issues

I encountered two weird issues. The main one is that bicycle:backward=use_sidepath gets filtered out somewhere. I seems at anything that starts with bicycle and is not equal to bicycle doesn't show up. That was on r3766. I then upgraded to r3997 to see if anything would change. It did :-( Now highway!=track { echo 'foo' } gives an error: Error in style: Error: (lines:1): Invalid rule expression: $highway!=track foo!=bar { echo 'foo' } does work either. It seems to be related to the '!=' operator, because highway=track { echo 'foo' } is fine.

Devices not accepting non Garmin maps

Some user of my maps has reported that his unit doesn't read mkgmap maps. He asked Garmin service and they told device is blocked from fabric, so that it only accepts genuine Garmin maps. It seems to be a different problem than the unicode related one recently reported, as I don't use unicode. Do you know something about that limitation? Is there a way circumvent it?

nodes on a way/polygon

hi, how can I find with my points style files, if a node is (or not) attached on a way or on a polygon? there's a way to do that? Hi, Is it possible to display characters from Eastern Europe code page in Garmin unit (Oregon 650) which are in description fields (e.g. "description", "region-name" ...) in "template.args"? In which code page should be this file (utf-8,1250) and which parameter "code-page" ? Best Regards Darek

mkgmap:area2poi in combination with area_size()

Hello Using the mkgmap:area2poi feature it's easy to create a poi for a polygon but i would like to combine that with the area_size() function Eg. Only show poi-icons on larger areas (forest, industrial areas, commercial areas etc.) and not if they are small of size Is there a way to achieve this? mkgmap:area2poi is added after processing the 'relations' file, and in this relations file, area_size() is not supported Can this property be made available by default or be added somewhere before processing the points file? type() function

Hi, escuse me, I found this in the style-manual.pdf: type() x x x Retrieves the type of the OSM element: node, way, relation. but I don't understand how I can put this on my style.... For example, I would to know if an OSM element is a node with this function. I put this in my points file but it doesn't work... tourism=picnic_site & type()=node [0x7018 resolution 12] Any suggestions?
