Garmin Basecamp 4.7.0 on Windows breaks MapInstall sending .img format maps

It's nothing mkmap can fix - just a note if you're wondering: On Windows MapInstall you cannot send ANY map in the classic .img format anymore. Also genuine Garmin maps are arriving as overview map only. Actually it would be cool if garmin could use overview maps on devices too, so far they were basecamp/mapsource only. Since recently I cannot update my osm maps anymore with osmupdate. Error: Could not get the newest daily timestamp from the Internet. Anyone familiar with this isssue and how to fix this?

Hi all, does anyone have an idea, why osmconvert64 seems to do not work anymore ? I have used this to build bounds files on my one (if the input file ist small enough) but today with a fresh loaded pbf file from "http://download.geofabrik.de/" this line "c:\Program Files (x86)\KartenTools\osmconvert64.exe" .\input\nordrhein-westfalen-latest.osm.pbf -o=.\input\nordrhein-westfalen-latest.o5m only produces an empty output ? Did i miss something ? Wrong address with addr:place

I found this strange case of place mismatch on an object tagged with addr: place. The address of this point is: city: Recanati street/place: Frazione Montefiore housenumber: 23 https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/5469314272 This address gives no result but I found out that there are two results for this one: city: Recanati street/place: Contrada Mattonata housenumber: 23 the right one is here: https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/5468200919 but the other result points to the previous one. Performance hints for Java JRE 9 + 10

Hi all, it seems that the new Garbage Collector (G1GC) that was introduced with Java JRE 9 causes longer run times for splitter and mkgmap. I've played with some options and found that the use of -XX:+AggressiveHeap seems to be a good idea when you use these newer JREs. Without this option the java programs tend to allocate more memory and thus the OS might start to swap. Gerd
