Hi *, is there a way to influence / improve / change the way tags that contain non-latin script are transliterated by mkgmap? Right now I am trying to make a map of Iran. OSM entities with a "name:en" tag are not a problem, I can use that. But many places contain name tags in farsi only. When I compare the result of mkgmap with other online transliteration tools I find a lot of problems. E.g. way id 374182315: <tag k="name" v="خرداد"/> In my mkgmap garmin map it shows as "KHRD?D". According to http://mylanguages.org/farsi_romanization.php it should be "khrdad". Any ideas on how to improve this?

Hi What should this message say? I want to find out, what's going wrong here, but how can i identify the node, which node is wrong? Version mkgmap-r4237 was committed by gerd on Sat, 01 Sep 2018 revert most changes from r4223 in WrongAngleFixer This is a work around for a possible Assertion Error which can happen when a node on a country boundary is very close to the tile boundary. The soft clipping process creates an additional node exactly on the tile boundary. This might cause a zig-zag. phyghtpmap - cannot convert float NaN to integer

Hello, I would like to ask whether this is a bug of phyghtmap or in some libraries used by it. Compiling Typ-Files with mkgmap Version 4214

Hi all i have just noticed, that compiling style txt files with mkgmap version 4214 will result in a typ-file just double the size of necessary. Looking into the resulting file with a hex-editor i really saw, that all data is stored twice after another. See the attached files. The file mystyle-new.typ is the result of the compilation, the files "first half" and "second half" are the result of my separation of the mystyle-new.typ file with a hex editor. MultiPolygon code optimisation

Hi Gerd A while ago, when I was trying to understand the multi-polygon code, one of the first things to strike me was that it seems to make things more complicated that they should be by not keeping the inner and outer ways parts separate during the initial processing in MultiPolygonRelation done by getSourceWays() and joinWays(). Instead, could have two instances (inner & outer) of a class that code like getSourceWays() can add() a way to, after choosing the correct class based on role/r_e.getKey(). The class holds unclosedWays, closedWays and the add() method will: 1/ test if already closed and add to closedWays & return 2/ test if either end joins to one or two elements in unclosedWays. if so, join in appropriate direction, remove second unclosedWay if joined both ends to different unclosedWays. if now closed, remove from unclosedWays and add to closedWays & return 3/ add to unclosedWays Another method to call at end to flag error for each unclosedWay Now the logic can proceed with working out which outers contain inners and start cutting...
