Hello, Thank you for your support, I am using a file text for my options. Routing is not workng

Hello, Route calculation in MacOS Basecamp latest version is not working with the map I generate. I use to build my map since many years and it seems that my problem appears last year around May. As I customize the style and I manage my maps with some layers, I checked it with the default style, the latest version of mkgmap and Ireland OSM data deom Geofabrik without my additionnal layers. The result is the same : route calculation is not working in the latest Basecamp version for MacOS. Could anyone give me a clew to solve this problem ? David Compilation options include route, bound, drive-on-left, option to add some POI for access to motorways... and I produce a custom TYP built with my own software.

Well if I’m looking for the city via the POI I can find it! Hello, I just make a new IMG map from OSM to my Garmin device, I’m using Hebrew and I’m trying to find some address on my Garmin device but it is not working. I even tried using the city, house number, street and nothing! On the OSM map I can find it easily with no problem. Please advice. Thanks Benny

Different simplification of routable and non-routable lines

Hi, I want to create 2 lines on a map from a single highway object. I have noticed recently, that sometimes these 2 lines are misaligned. I guess this is because of different simplification. Is it a new problem (maybe extra points for house numbers)? Or maybe there was never guarantee to get these lines precisely aligned? I think this topic was discussed, but I don't remember conclusions. -- Best regards, Andrzej

style file warnings

I noticed warnings with my style file so I back checked with the Openfietsmap_full style and I see the same warning: Found one style in /home/brad/Maps/OSM/Style/Openfietsmap_full/ Warning: routable type 0x08 is used for non-routable line with level 0. This may break routing. Style file lines, line 179 and more ... Are these warnings safe to ignore?

Thank you Gerd, it works. I used to download the data from the Export section of openstreetmap.org, defining the bbox by hand and then clicking on "Overpass Api" (not just on the Export button). Probably the http call to Overpass misses an instruction to download the multipolygons completely. Processing a small area in my region, I noticed a strange behaviour in the rendering of one multipolygon. In the original OSM map (see image A.jpg, bounds are 43.9978 to 44.0135, 10.2989 to 10.3228) the area along the street to "Cardoso" is a strip of empty land (untagged) sorrounded by a forest. This forest is a large and complex multipolygon tagged with natural=wood. Thus, the strip of empty land is defined by lines which are the outer members of the multipolygon (see file cardoso.osm). When processed with mkgmap, the result is somehow "inverted": the map shows the strip of land as wood and the area around as empty, both in Basecamp and in my eTrex 20x (see image B.jpg). To test the issue I created a simple style (see files polygons and points) containing only the file "version", the file "points" which defines only the rendering of places and the file "polygons" which defines only the rendering of the areas tagged with natural=wood. I cannot figure out if the problem lies in mkgmap or in the incorrect mapping of the area in OSM. typfile curiosity

Hi i just stumbled again about a curious effect of the built-in typ-compiler from mkgmap. Just figured out that hex-ids for points, which are built in the way Type = 0x108, SubType = 02 or equal are mixed up after the compile to 0x00102 ? I can avoid this by building the hex-id only in one line, i.e Type = 0x10802. Its not for all of the ids, may be only for points with ids > 0x100.
