In Mapsource the results are a bit better with your patch. I'll try again with my Oregon later. Gerd

Why does the default typ not render cycleways?

Just a quick question: when I compile with default style and typ, cycleways are not rendered. I need to use, say, mapnik.txt to see them. So far as my very limited understanding reaches, the default style has highway=cycleway [0x11 road_class=0 road_speed=1 resolution 23] garmin type 0x11. So far so good (and mapnik picks that up). But the default typ seems to ignore 0x11, although I cannot find that specification just now. Have I missed something? Why don't the defaults render things so significant as cycleways? This seems to have been the case for at least a year. ael

Question on routing difference

Hi all, I´m using an altered copy of the OFM style and therefore sometimes compare the results. One routing difference I found I was able to lead back, but the cause I don´t understand at all. My test-route should prefer the small residential „Altengabengäßchen“ over the primary „Viktoriastrasse“. Latest OFM does, my version not since I removed {add bicycle=yes} from this line: highway=path & surface ~ '(paved|asphalt|sett|concrete|paving_stones|paving_stones:30)' & access!=no & access!=private & vehicle!=no { set highway=pedestrian; add bicycle=yes; add motorcar=yes; } But unfortunately there is no path or pedestrian in the test-route, nor is it an option to use one. Anyone has an idea how this path>pedestrian rule could affect routing on residential/primary? Same happens when I replay the change with the original OFM. Combining img files to a single map

You can combine all tiles you want. the used style for creating the tiles makes no matter. The restriction is : resulting gmapsupp.img can have *only 1 fid* and can use *only 1 typfile. *if you try this, the minimum options are : family-id=900 /product-id=1// //code-page=1252// //family-name=your name// //series-name=your name// //overview-mapname=anywhat// //area-name=your area// //gmapsupp// // //#list of used tiles:// //6324*.img 789*.img 8910*.img and so on...../ **By the way : only gmaptool can create a gmapsupp from different <name>-gmapsupp.img as source. thomas

Test if POI is part of a line

I read through the old poi-tagged-v3.patch is_in()function for point on line discussion - but what I want is actually different and should be much easier? Could there be a solution to check if a point is a single point vs if it is part of a open/closed line? Why? I would only like to display barrier/highway=gate point icons if they are part of a (best routable) line. Especially for gates most are just useless clutter because they are tagged on private houses and similar. If there was a way to delete afterwards/or create only in first place those points that are part of a line would be good, best would be if they are only shown if part of a routable line (so after the lines stye-file is processed). -- Felix Hartman - Outdoormaps LTD - Openmtbmap.org & VeloMap.org
