In Mapsource the results are a bit better with your patch. I'll try again with my Oregon later. Gerd

Question on routing difference

Hi all, I´m using an altered copy of the OFM style and therefore sometimes compare the results. One routing difference I found I was able to lead back, but the cause I don´t understand at all. My test-route should prefer the small residential „Altengabengäßchen“ over the primary „Viktoriastrasse“. Latest OFM does, my version not since I removed {add bicycle=yes} from this line: highway=path & surface ~ '(paved|asphalt|sett|concrete|paving_stones|paving_stones:30)' & access!=no & access!=private & vehicle!=no { set highway=pedestrian; add bicycle=yes; add motorcar=yes; } But unfortunately there is no path or pedestrian in the test-route, nor is it an option to use one. Anyone has an idea how this path>pedestrian rule could affect routing on residential/primary? Same happens when I replay the change with the original OFM. Test if POI is part of a line

I read through the old poi-tagged-v3.patch is_in()function for point on line discussion - but what I want is actually different and should be much easier? Could there be a solution to check if a point is a single point vs if it is part of a open/closed line? Why? I would only like to display barrier/highway=gate point icons if they are part of a (best routable) line. Especially for gates most are just useless clutter because they are tagged on private houses and similar. If there was a way to delete afterwards/or create only in first place those points that are part of a line would be good, best would be if they are only shown if part of a routable line (so after the lines stye-file is processed). -- Felix Hartman - Outdoormaps LTD - Openmtbmap.org & VeloMap.org

Suggestion: Add option to remove area after convert to poi

Hi, The --add-pois-to-areas option is very useful to create maps. However, in certain cases I wish to have a clear poi file in addition to the garmin NT navigation file, so that can use the feature like speed limit and "garmin real directions". Thus an option such like --poi-only that removes all non-poi data at end of the process would be great. Thanks, Ke

Indexing street belonging to two cities

Hi there, It is not uncommon for Poland, that one street is located in two different cities. If there are addresses, mkgmap can deal with that problem and allow garmin devices to find the proper address. But if there are no addresses, I was not able to find a method for proper search index generation. Is there any solution for this problem? cgpsmapper supports this type of indexing by using @ in cities name: CityName=city1@city2 so img format can handle this. Thanks for any suggestions Piotr
