[Patch] Simplify UnusedElementsRemoverHook

Hi all, I've noticed that the hook does a few things which are probably not (or no longer) needed: 1) It checks if a way without tags is member of a relation, because the rules in relation may add tags to this way. This was okay when the hook was added to the source, but the hook is now executed after those rules were executed, so that check is not needed. 2) It doesn't remove nodes outside of the tile bbox when such a node has tags keys that are used by the POI generator (--pois-to-areas-placement) I've changed the code so that it checks for the combination of tag key and value, not only for the key. 3) The check if a way is outside of the tile bbox did not work for ways which have a bbox that intersects with the tile bbox while the way itself neither crosses the bbox nor contains it (e.g. a large polygon). If I hear no complains I'll commit this patch on thursday. Gerd

Special cases with LocationHook

Hi all, while looking at the problem reported by Henning I've noticed a few special cases. Please comment: 1) The current code tries to set the mkgmap:admin_level? tags for generated ways with natural=sea. Does that make sense? Sometimes it works, esp. when the polygon is close to the coast. 2) The current code may fail to set mkgmap:admin_levelx tags for ways with natural=land generated by SeaGenerator even if these polygons are clearly inside a country boundary. It happens when the generated way is outside the (calculated) bounding box of all nodes in input file, but inside the tile boundary. Such a tile is produced by splitter when you split e.g. Canada without trimming the tiles. Some tiles will cover large parts of the USA. Assert error

Hi, I have just started getting an assert of "too many polylines at level 1" with my latest UK build. Admin relations

Hi @all, I try to render for some larger countries like China also province boundaries as well. (admin_level=4 additional to level 2). But don't want to show those in Mongolia for example. Therefore I write some intermediate tag to all level4-ways and then use the mkgmap:country tag in lines file to only show them in China. Unfortunately it's not very precise (ok it's logical). See attached screen shot. Red marked boundary line is missing, blue ones are shown, but shouldn't. Anyone has an idea how to solve this issue? I thought maybe use subarea of admin relations, but first they are not very common in OSM and 2nd, not sure how to code it in relations file. DEM/Contourlines causing grey (empty) squares at the border of maps

In some cases at the borders of maps - there appear grey rectangles in Basecamp and Mapsource (well do not mind Mapsource much - it's very outdated) - this only appears if using a DEM/contourline overview... Sorry as Basecamp is windows only - only windows installer/Mac OSX gmap file here: https://openmtbmap.org/mtbbayern.exe or https://openmtbmap.org/mtbbayern_macosx.7z Without contourlines the map works fine (mapsetx.tdb...) Contourlines map alone also does not work (mapsetz.tdb...) So the bug is clearly in the transparent DEM/contourlines map. Sometimes simply rendering the contourlines map again and the bug is gone... Error in index

Hi all, I am back from my cycling tour. I've observed a problem with my self compiled gmapsupp, the device doesn't find most of the restaurant POIs. Search for e.g. shops or hotels worked fine, just POI with 0x2a?? seem to cause trouble. Search takes very long and shows only a few far away restaurants. I wonder if anybody else has the same problems? Gerd
