Mapsource crashes while calculating a route

Hi, I have observed crashes for some time. Mapsource 6.16.3 indicates a bug in module MPL_MAP.CPP. Basecamp reports an error or goes into infinite loop. Now I have extracted minimal source data, which creates faulty map. Removing any road or even a crossing point restore routing. Bug exist in mkgmap r2815, r2857, r2889, r2975 and r2976. Map created by mkgmap r2795 works correctly. I'm attaching here files to reproduce problem: mkgmap.bat - batch, which I have used to create the map, test-a.pbf - very simple OSM source data, route.gpx - short route, which causes a crash in Mapsource. -- Best regards, Andrzej

Wrong routing in some closed roundabount

Hi guys, We note in our group a strange behavior in some roundabounts that are complete loops. Investigating, we discovered that when the starting and ending points of a roundabout coincides with a rountable node, we are able to route through this roundabout. However, if the starting and ending points of a roundabout don't match a rountable node, we have problem to route through this roundabout. How do I transform the name of all Ways?

Hi everyone, I want to do some transformations on the names of all the Ways, is there a standard way to do that? For example, I want to replace all occurrences of "Avenida" for "Av.". I tried adding this to my lines file: |highway=* & name ~ '(?i)avenida\s+.*' { add streettype:movedend='${name|subst:(?i)avenida\s+~>}, Av.'} #| But There was no effect. Thanks in advance, Alexandre

Removing building polygons from the map

Hi everyone, The styles I am using add polygons to every building on the map. I never thought it was a problem, but recently someone did a mass import of all the buildings in my city and I started to get performance problems during GPS use. I want to avoid the polygons on the map, but I don't want to miss the POIs. I had partial success editing the polygon style file and removing this line: |# building tag should be last #(building=* | amenity=*) & area!=no & amenity!=grave_yard [0x13 resolution 24]| I believe this removes all buildings for which there's no other rule converting it to a POI. Can I remove all the other building polys too, since I am using the --add-pois-to-areas option, or I this will discard all the POIs? Thanks in advance, Alexandre de Menezes

Hi Is there a way using mkgmap to directly show the osmc:symbol in basecamp & on the garmin. I am able to show the contents of the osmc:symbol in basecamp and on the garmin but I want to generate the osmc:symbol itself and have it disploay without having to create a complete set of custom icons in the typ file.. Any thoughts? Thanks. Bill

Has anyone added a USA TIMEZONE overlay ontop of their custom maps?

Since I cannot seem to get this feature added to the OSM database (because it is not verifiable, or something) has anyone got this data from a different source and combined to maps together so I can tell when riding across the counrty thay I am crossing a timezone?? Greg

Greetings Marko, Thank you for the informative website. I have been having issues with my Garmin Edge 705 seeing the map SD card and was hoping i could get copied of on older GCD file. I’ve been reading that downgrading then upgrading might take care of issue with the 705. Would it be possible to get the file 3468836 Edge605_705_310.gcd from you? Thank you, Roger Stevenson
