Trying to get EXIT info on my MONTANA 600 using mkgmap -3657 and motorway_junction, ref=(exit#)

I have entered exit info to this NODE: highway=motorway_junction ref=28 https://www.openstreetmap.org/node/62928686 I have entered this information on the following WAY: destination=Plymouth;Livonia destination:street=Ann Arbor Road https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/25926768 When I activate a ROUTE on my GARMIN MONTANA 600, It show "in 6mi, PLYMOUTH ANN ARBOR (using the Nuvi type layout) I do not get any EXIT or STREET information (in 6mi, exit 28, Ann Arbor road PLYMOUTH LIVONIA)", Am I doing something wrong? Does Mkgmap have Exit information for DESTINATION:STREET built in yet?

I am using r3660 and I can see very good exit info right now: "Exit 28, M-153, Canton Westland" This shows NODE:REF, LINK Destination:ref, LINK Destination I would like to see the STREET name of the the exit "Exit 28, Ford Road, M-153, Canton Westland" https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/8730283 is there a mkgmap variable being set yet for DESTINATION:STREET ? Index with little ram?

Hello together, mkgmap needs a lot of RAM to build the index for the adress search. Also for the gmapsupp. My computer has 4 GB and it´s not possible to build the index for a germany map. It works, when i not use the "x-split-name-index" Option. But I want to use this. The map has 2,21GB (only the mapfiles) The Computer from my son has 12 GB. This machine has no problem with germany, but failed, when it builds the index for an europe map (12,1GB). Is it possible to change the index-build process so, that also a little computer is able to build the index? By the wy, the x-split-name-index works fine by street names. Is it possible, that it also works by town-names? Best regards Arndt

Any way to get SPEED LIMITS to pop up on my Garmin GPS, like they do on City Navigator?

I have been entering SPEED_LIMIT=X in the OSM maps and it would be nice to see this info on the maps I build. The NUVI DASHBOARD on my GPS pops up Speed LIMIT when running City Navigator 2016.20. Has this been implemented in mkgmap? Greg

Is there a way I can get TURNING_CIRCLE and TURNING_LOOP to add a 'ball' to the end of my ways?

I have been updating the OSM map looking for missing TURNING_LOOP and TURNING_CIRCLES. It would be nice if I could generate a map that give some kind of representation of a BALL looking shape to the end of my ways, so when I am driving around and encounter a TURNING_LOOP or TURNING_CIRCLE I can tell if I need to add it to the OSM map, or not. Time Zones in the USA defined or not?

I was looking at Administrative boundarys in INDIANA, trying to find if TIME ZONES are defined in the OSM. There is a linetype '0x19 Time Zone' defined and I would like to add it to my maps (huge red thick line, so you are aware you are passing the zone) I don't think this is defined in the USA Is anyone using linetype 0x19? Greg

Hi all, the attached patch changes the java code to also evaluate the tags destination:street destination:lanes:forward destination:lanes:backward If destination!=* and one of these tags is found the tag destination is set to the corresponding value. The order of evaluation with this patch is : destination destination:lanes (if the value contains no pipe symbol "|" ) destination:lanes:forward or destination:lanes:backward (if the value contains no pipe symbol "|" ) destination:street destination:forward or destination:backward If you think the order is not okay, please let me know. Note that your rules may still evaluate the listed tags to create the text for the hint. Gerd

Any way to get BRIDGES=YES to be drawn on TOP of all other ways?

I really wanted the .img file to look like the real roads. If a linetype crossed over another way, it would be drawn on top. Since there is a limited number of Routable linetypes, I decided to just use one linetype and label it "bridge". But this still does not work. I get some ways being drawn on top of the bridge way. Any sure way to get bridges to be drawn on top? In my lines file I have added (Tertiary example ): highway=tertiary & mkgmap:unpaved=1 [0x11 road_class=1 road_speed=3 resolution 20] # I use a THICK UNPAVED LINETYPE highway=tertiary & oneway=yes [0x26 resolution 20 continue] # I overlay ARROWS underneath the way highway=tertiary & cycleway=lane [0x17 resolution 20 continue] # I overlay 2 bike lanes alongside the way (not currently working, yet) highway=tertiary & bridge!=yes [0x05 road_class=1 road_speed=3 resolution 20] # draw all ways that do not have bridges # at the end of the lines file, just before FINALIZE highway=tertiary & bridge=yes [0x12 road_class=1 road_speed=3 resolution 20] # draw bridges last so they will be on top.
