Hi Does anyone know for sure that if you do not supply this option, you get routing problems? I'm either going to make it the default (with --route) or remove it by the end of the day as it has been annoying me for years! ..Steve

Hi I made this commit to make remove-short-arcs on by default. Due to my misconfiguration of the email address it didn't go to the main list. There is more to this than I thought. I remember the default being 5, but the code currently has 0 as the default. So 0 shouldn't work and that ties in with the observation by Chris. Also when remove-short-arcs is given, then it appears that the boundary nodes are not created, which will also break routing. address index glitch?

I've uploaded the defective tile 66923055.osm.pbf. mkgmap takes a lot more time with this tile. I start 3 threads and mkgmap is already at a tile number wide above 100 when the message for tile #55 is displayed.

splitter: keep-complete information in tiles

Hi Gerd, is it possible to add an attribute to the tiles that they are generated with keep-complete? I think for OSM XML format it is not possible to add freely defined attributes but I am not sure if this is possible for pbf and/or o5m? It could be useful in mkgmap to have this information e.g. for multipolygon error handling. WanMil

Option --index but no "Find Place" in Mapsource

I use mkgmap 2373 with the default-style. My Optionfile is: family-name=TEST series-name=TEST description=TEST bounds=\Gps\Data\bounds_20121019.zip country-name=Deutschland country-abbr=DEU region-name=Deutschland region-abbr=DEU name-tag-list=name:de,int_name,name:en,name index route net nsis area-name=Germany road-name-pois=0x2f15 draw-priority=20 reduce-point-density=2.6 reduce-point-density-polygon=1.2 merge-lines remove-short-arcs latin1 levels=0:24,1:23,2:22,3:21,4:20,5:19,6:17 max-jobs The Commandline is: java -Xmx1500M -jar p:\gps\bin\mkgmap\mkgmap.jar -c mkgmap.opt -c input-files OSM-Data are a little part from the germany_20121118.osm.pbf (splitted in 63240001.img ... 63240008.img) All is fine but i expected, that in Mapsource the Menu "Find place" (in german "Orte suchen") is usable. But this is greyed out. I don't find my mistake. Have you everywhere a simple example for that or is that an error in mkgmap? With best regards

Ok, i'll try... ;) Yes, it works/ed with splitter r202 and with 243. It is my own extract with germany + 50km + iceland, extracted from europe.osm.pbf from geofabrik. Here are my parameters: start /belownormal /b /wait java -Xmx1444m -jar ..\bin\splitter.jar --keep-complete --overlap=0 --output=pbf --max-areas=256 --mapid=66%FID%001 --max-nodes=1200000 ..\OSM-Data\germany+iceland.osm.pbf

splitter r246: I don't have the exact error message, but it was like: There is to much data for mkgmap to process, please further split data... So mkgmap refuses to process the data for the tile and ist remains 0 (=zero) and the tile is missing completely. What should i do? I did reduce the count from 1200000 to 1000000, would that be enough?! :?
