Strange roundabout flare road warning

Hi Mark, I tried to fix this by adding oneway=yes to the flare roads, but it did not fix the issue. Other warnings that I fixed yesterday are gone, so my dump should be fine. 2010/02/23 09:51:40 WARNING (RouteNode): 63240004.osm.gz: Outgoing roundabout flare road (http://www.openstreetmap.org/browse/way/50982726) points in wrong direction? http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=67.78665&mlon=24.81923&zoom=17 Any ideas what might be wrong? [PATCH v1] Improving internal contour lines generation

This patch adds support for maps crossing borders of SRTM (hgt) files. So its possible to create contour lines for larger areas. Additional: - description of contour relevant options - "dem-increment" option has been modified so it is possible to create different contour levels (major, medium, minor) Open issues: - I am still struggling with using multiple GeoTiff files (CGIAR + ASTER). - data files have to be loaded manually. Multipolygon artificial tagging

Hi Marko and others, the patch for the mp code does not remove any tags from the source polygons and lines. Instead it tags all mp-source lines and polygons with mkgmap:mp_source=yes. All artificially created polygons during the mp processing are tagged with mkgmap:mp_created=yes. Example: Polygon A - natural=water, role=outer Polygon B - landuse=grass, role=inner Result after mp processing Polygon A - natural=water, role=outer, mkgmap:mp_source=yes Polygon B - landuse=grass, role=inner, mkgmap:mp_source=yes Polygon A1 - natural=water, mkgmap:mp_created=yes Polygon A2 - natural=water, mkgmap:mp_created=yes Polygon B1 - landuse=grass, mkgmap:mp_created=yes Maybe you could play a bit with this and post any new ideas how to improve the tag handling in the mp code. Process for Creating Contour Maps?

Does someone have wiki pages describing the best procedure to create contour maps for Garmins? It seems like a number of people are having some success but it doesn't seem to be very well documented. I'm working though trying to get groundtruth to generate .osm files with contours in them and then using mkgmap to create an .img file but mkgmap is segfaulting. In any case though, I'd like to get contour maps using better data than the STRM that groundtruth uses. My ultimate goal is to generate contour maps for a trip out to the Grand Canyon this summer. -- Jeff Ollie

DEM subfile

Hi, based on some freely(?) available maps with DEM data and on "empty" DEM files created by GMapTool I started to analyze the DEM subfile format. With the little information I got so far (see http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OSM_Map_On_Garmin/DEM_Subfile_Format) I managed to write some rudimentary code to create empty DEM files with mkgmap (just the same as GMapTool can do). If anybody has more information on the DEM format, I would be very happy to hear about it. Best wishes Christian

access restrictions and routing

Moin, I am trying to restrict the access to some streets during the routing, but I can't get it working. I have a rule in my style file like: highway=* & mkgmap_routing=foot {set motor_vehicle=no} [0x09 road_class=1 road=speed=1 resolution 22] I want the street only to be used for routing, when the routing mode is set to food. But right now mapsource is using the streets also in car/motorbike routing. Is there a mkgmap-switch (version 1575) required, if I want to use the access restrictions? Gruss Torsten

Please help: --generate-sea: No coastline

Hi! I am relatively new to mkgmap but I searched the archive and found no answers. So I try to find help in this mailing list. I know that generate-sea is still buggy but I cannot achieve any blue sea. I try to generate a routable map of the Canary Islands. With the mkgmap version 1580 I do not even get the coast lines. With 1484 I got blue islands on yellow sea. Can there be any interaction between style-files and the generate-sea option?
