Currently mkgmap crashes on compiling alps or italy from geofabrik (yesterdays and todays download tested). Tested with 1393 and 1396. No matter whether using my own style-file or mkgmap default. It seems to me that there must be some crazy road data in northern Italy. Wondering why some roads look like a string of sausages in mapsource when zoomed out, I fiddled with a number and the gaps filled up.

Main changes are: 1 - if the number of points in an arc reaches the limit, the way doesn't need to be split, it can just have a point made into a node to finish the arc 2 - when the number of points in a way reaches the limit, split the way at an existing node if one is found while scanning backwards looking for a suitable place to split the way.

NSIS patch

Hello, Please find attached a patch that will generate a .nsi file if --nsis is provided on the command line. This .nsi file can be use with NSIS ( http://nsis.sourceforge.net) to build an EXE installer for installing the maps with MapSource on Windows. Known limitation: for now I assume that --index and --tdbfile were present on the command line. If not the installer will probably fail because of missing files. Please let me know your feedback. Installing to RoadTrip works without a hitch! Thanks Clinton. I am not a regular RoadTrip user and I can't seem to upload the map from Roadtrip to GPS SD card. When I hit the send button, only waypoints and routes are sent to the SD card. For maps that have lots of long lines (e.g. contours) splitting the lines reduces the number of subdivisions that have too much stuff in them. Also, concatenate the contents of multiple Data lines (but output an error message as well).

Seems that mapsource discards lines if the total amount of data in a subdivision exceeds some limit even if the various other constraints are all OK. So, change the test so that the sum of the sizes of the points, lines and shapes is less than MAX_RGN_SIZE. Also, if a subdivision can't be split because it's deemed to be too small, make the message an error instead of a warning.
